SVILUPPO DI UN CONVERTITORE BACK TO BACK

DEVELOPMENT OF A BIDIRECTIONAL DC/DC CONVERTER WITH 3500 Vdc CATENARY CONNECTION.

GPtech participated in the Sa2ve project, financed by the Education Ministry and making part of the National Plan of Scientific Investigation, Development and Technological Innovation (I+D+I 2004-2007).
The main objective of this project was the development of a cinetic energy storing technology, put into practice in three industries of possible interest:
Stationary use for rail transport (substations), building energy management and electric supply quality.
GPtech developed different power systems, being the bidirectional DC/DC converter with 3500 Vdc catenary connection specially to be emphasized.

GPTECH PARTICIPATES IN STRATEGIC PROJECT FERROLINERA 3.0.

GPtech, together with a consortium of Spanish investigation centers and companies of the power electronics industry,
is partner in the strategic project Ferrolinera 3.0, co-financed by the Spanish Ministry of Economics and Competitivity and the European Regional Development Fund.

The project aims at the development of an innovative charging system for electric vehicles, thanks to the use of clean energy from regenerative train breaking systems.
The whole solution consists of a power electronics converter for 3000 V C/C catenary connection, a storing system for optimizing charging cycles and fast and slow charging stations.
Also PV infrastructure is developed, giving thereby a second renewable energy source to the project. In order to manage all components and to integrate them into the general electric grid
special control and management algorithms are designed building a micro-smart grid.
